Top 10 Nintendo Games of the Decade.

So we're nearing the end of the "Noughties", so what better time to reflect on everything you've played on a Nintendo Platform over the past 10 years.

Covering the years from January 1st 2000 to December 31st 2009 there's been a fair few classics on Nintendo platforms, and now is the chance to shape Radio-Ninty's top ten games of the decade. We're keeping this strictly to Nintendo platforms, so the end of N64 and GameBoy Color. As mentioned on the show, remakes such as Resident Evil are allowed, Re-releases like the Mario Advance games or Link to the Past do not count. This also applies to the likes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 on the Gamecube as they didn't recieve the same glorious treatment that REmake had.

So to recap we want 10 games that appeared on Nintendo platforms between the dates of January 1st 2000 and December 31st 2009, that covers the end of the N64 and Gameboy Color (I think), The Gamecube and GBA and the DS and lastly the Wii.

They need to be ordered 1-10, favourite game at the number 1, least favourite at number 10.

No re-releases, but remakes do count.

Email them to me at duane@radio-ninty.com or pm them to me on the forum by midnight December 31st 2009 and I'll compile it all into a Top Ten List to be unveilled and discussed on the first show of 2010 which should be on January 5th 2010.

What? It can't be the end of the decade - I still remember standing on the beach early in the morning, 01/01/00, watching the fireworks. I think I must have been five.

Anyway, in my limited experience of Nintendo video games (since 2007), I will see what I can come up with. You're asking a lot for me to order them, though.

I'll definitely have to give this some thought...most of the games I'd like to include are GBA and GC, because that's the generation I came back into gaming after skipping the n64-psx era. There are going to be difficult choices to make!

hmmmmm well this is a mighty hard decision I suspect mine might not be the more popular choices (damn you all) but hell lets face it half of them will be N64 games for a start.

Half? From 2000 on wards? I'm pretty sure there was only Majora's Mask, Banjo-Tooie and Paper Mario released at that time on N64  (well, thats a third...)

I think what everyone should take away from this incident is that Perfect Dark is the best game ever made and any disagreeing will be met with violence. I learned that from games.

hehe, this is actually pretty tricky mainly because I can't vote for Super Mario World damn it!

See what I did was look at the games I still remember now even if I didn't give them a classic rating at the time. SO yeah go for the games you can remember fondly rather than what was 'good'.

Indeed, otherwise we should just go on metacritic and take the first ten in the ratings.
The best games are the one who gave you more enjoyment, fun and memories. That's why sometimes we have in our own personal Olympus of great games titles than other people don't hold into much consideration. I for one love Zelda 2 the adventure of Link, which is considered by many the "black sheep" (read: worst game EVAR!1!!ONEONE!!ELEVEN!1!) of the zelda franchise.
That's the beauty and importance of personal tastes.
And FYI Stu is right, Mario World is the best game of all time hands down. Second is Ocarina.

Centy, did you see they're remaking Perfect Dark for XBLA? Might be time to dust off the old 360, eh? Eh? Eh? 

NSMBW is steadily growing in favor for me. I considered it too new to make this list when it was announced, but now it's on mine. So there's that.
